Trip to Australia part 1
hey whats up guys im just on here for 2.2 before I meet up with the people on my trek and head out to the bars. I've only been in sydney since 10 this morning and this trip has already been insane. I travelled for about 40 hours straight to get here! My plane from sydney to halifax was delayed, but when I got into town it was still early enough I got to go out for a bit. The next morning I wasup at 6 and on the go, had a bomb breakfast at the hotel restaurant and headed to the airport....to wait. My flight was delayed by about an hour and a half, and I missed my connection in Montreal because of it. So I had to go on a tear through the airport and tell some people off and finally I got a ticket change, instead of flying through Vancouver I was transferred to fly through LA. So I went to pick up my bags to make the transfer, in this weird little room with a mini baggage conveyor. It was just me and this black guy in a cleveland browns jersey, and both of us were pretty pissed off at Air Canada. hahah So we waited there for about an hour and we ended up talking, his name was Dion he's an ex-Cfl player who almost made the NFL, cool as fuck. We got sloshed in the airport for about 4 hours while we waited for our flight, got a new buddy in Halifax/Chicago. Gonna learn to play murderball when I get back with him hahah. Unreal guy though, he was on his way to the superbowl and Air Canada lost his luggage with his 2 custom suits and his alligator shoes. He was straight up ballin, drinkin henny n coke on the rocks all night, got me sloshed, 50$ of beer for 7$ hahah. So then I flew to LA. Flight wasnt bad, I was tipsy n I napped for most of it, woke up feelin fresh in Los Angeles. Man, flying into LA was crazy. It is mofuckin huuuuuuuuugeeeeeeeeeeee 10 million people drivin onn a teearrrrrrrrrr. hahah the airport was pretty interesting, like 5 terminals, i tagged along with a group of elderly people who were heading for australia too so I could find my way. I managed to get checked in after going to like 3 different terminals, but there was a big delay cause of the fucked up american security. I went to get dinner at the food court, it was either Mexican or McDonalds. I was about to get mexican....but i was jus gettin on a 14 hour flight, i figured whoever was sittin around me would appreciate me choosin mcdonalds. hahahaha but after that I went through security, got searched by an awkward little hindu man, and managed to get on my flight. 14 hours on a plane is so brutal its unbelievable. Luckily I was between 2 ppl about my age so when we were awake we talked about australia n stuff, guy on my right was an american whos goin to college there, girl on my left was a canadian about to start goin to college here. I drugged myself and slept for most of it, and I watched Borat on the movies on demand. Man that movies funny. But finally at about 9 50 ozzie time I arrived in australia, feeling grubbier than you can ever understand unless you've been on a plane for that long. After going through customs(I hate customs) I got on my backpack and got a shuttle into my hotel, where I was pumped to find out the superbowl was on live haha . I watched that for a bit and texted Dion to make fun of him for being stuck in the rain and that his Bears were losing, fuckin Rex eh? haha and then my roommate from the trek showed up. He's a cool guy, mid 30s, indian guy from New York, anasthesiologist. We went on a mission into Sydney to get lunch, man is Sydney ever cool. This place is huge, and its beautiful. And the girls? Smokin. Absolutely smokin boys you don't even know hahahaha so we got lunch at this crazy restaurant down at the harbor, I had Barramundi? It was bomb as fuck but I don't even know what it was hahah and then after that we came back to the room for a nap. Now its 7 15, we're meeting our other trekkers at 730 to go out and get sloshed and get to know each other, should be an interesting night!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back to post more ,
Trip To Australia Part 2
hahah woah part 2 where to start, first off thanks for all the comments on the first one guys! I'm pretty stuck for time so I'm not gonna really do alot of individual responding right now, just gonna see if I can pound out the story of what I've been doing since it left off. hahah woo, alright.
So 730 rolled around, and only 2 other people turned up? bit of a rough start, the tour guide didn't even show up. So me rantik brooke and jennifer, two girls in their 20s from canada decided to go do dinner and the welcome drinks as a group of 4. We walked into sydney, which let me tell you is ALOT different from the other sydney, its an incredible city. So anyways we walked down to by the harbour near where we ate lunch, but on the other side, to this little night club/restaurant. We just had a few beer and a basic meal there and shot the shit, they're all super cool it was a great time, kept it pretty quiet though we were all still really jet lagged and no one felt up for the clubs( Except me, but I decided not to ditch them and go solo..) but anyways, so we headed back to the hotel not too late, me and rantik hit the bed by about 11. and then 430 rolled around, and I was up and couldn't get back to sleep. Luckily so was he, we were both a bit anxious about meeting our fellow trekkers, as well as not being really used to the time change yet. So we threw on the news, and I learned a whole lot about Damascus and Syria, til around 6 am when we got our showers and stuff and headed down to the lobby to get breakfast and then meet everybody. We went in and the restaurant had 2 choices, continental or full buffet, we opted for the 10$ continental instead of the 16.50 full buffet..cause its breakfast, and I don't want to waste almost 20$ on friggin breakfast. So after a soggy bowl of cereal and 2 rubbish pieces of toast, 10$ poorer, we headed to the lobby. At first it wasn't looking promising, I had a bad feeling about the trip. Everyone there was wayyyyyyyy odler than me, so far brooke and jennifer were the youngest and they were both professionals in careers in their mid to late 20s? So I was starting to wonder what kind of trip I'd signed on for, and was getting worried I wasn't going to have alot of fun. Then at the last second, 2 british girls in their early 20s turned up, felicity and eleni, and I cheered up a bit. I just wasn't feeling being the youngest by 10 full years haha so I talked to them a bit, and we waited for our tour guide. Mark(our guide) turned up a bit late, and soon after meeting him I had a feeling we were in for an interesting trip. He's 28, cool as fuck, Indian origin but born and raised in Sydney, and an absolutely right on guy. So we took our bags to the Van/bus, a big white mercedes that had a big pirate flag on the ceililng of the inside and all sorts of hilarious little signs tagged all over the inside. I was stil not feeling super confident about the trip, but things were looking up. So on the drive, I ended up sitting next to Beatrijs from Belgium, she's 56, and she was sick, so she slept most of the way. We had 6.5 hours of driving ahead of us to get where we were headed, it was gonna be a long day. I spent the drive looking out the window at crazy australian scenery, and talking to felicity about getting shitfaced, dope, fighting in britain vs fighting in sydney, and all sorts of hilarious stuff. She's a character, provides us with..commentary? hahah she's a loud one, but she's funny so its all good. We stopped in a little town for lunch, and I found out they sell rum and coke in bottles here? and that subway is bomb in any country. hahahaAnyways, we drove for a long ass time, but eventually we stopped at a koala sanctuary/zoo. I got my picture taken holding a baby crocodile and with a python around my shoulders, patted a koala, got attacked by a cassowary, fed a kangaroo, saw 3 of the 5 worlds deadliest snakes, an albino kangaroo, and all sorts of crazy stuff. I'll post some pics up when I can, its actually ridiculous how cute the koalas are, I know thats a pussy thing to say but if you saw them sitting in the trees napping and stuff you'd know what I was talking about hahaha, the snakes were my favourite though, they're just so fucking cool. hahah but that place was wicked, I really enjoyed it, and after we got on the road and headed to where we were sleeping for the night. It was a long day of driving, but it wasn't bad, everyone was cool. It didn't take me long to get a rep as the tours party guy/adrenaline junkie/alcoholic, you know I'm repping Nova Scotia right down under. So we checked into our rooms, the 4 guys on the trip were all sharing a room. Then afterwards, we headed downstairs to the lobby/outside area to get ready for dinner. Me and Mark bonded as reliable drinkers, he got out some beers and we started drinking. After about 5 or 6 beers standing in front of the hostel, the owner brought us inside cause we were making him look bad. And i'm out of time, I'll continue it later. It gets better and better hahahah
