The Medical Basics

The Cause: Type 2a Astrocytoma. Growth history very slow. Age unknown.

The Problem: Epilepsy. Minor seizures initially triggered by a very light concussion, which returned over time briefly overcoming Keppra and giving me regular seizures for a few weeks. Stable for 6+ months again now, since day 3 of chemo:

The Medicine:
Keppra: 1500 mg 2xdaily - the basic seizure stopper
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levetiracetam

Temodal-165mg/day, 21 on 7 off. The chemo. A newer, more specifically targeted type of chemotherapy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temozolomide

Medical Marijuana - 1g/day edible capsules of refined resin cooked into coconut oil. I also smoke regularly, but recognize that as more of a comfort component. (Smoking is only "medically" justifiable as to be comparable with edible when a quick restoration of levels is needed IMO)

That's a very basic summary. A couple points I need to make: Do NOT read the stats on Astrocytoma and freak out. Mine is so slow growing it took 3 years for them to catch the sign on MRIs, and there's an interesting and complicated potential differentiating point with childhood initial growth. Otherwise, I think the M.M. will need a longer discussion

Old Notes- A Big Package Part 4

Bali 2

May 23, 2007 at 12:33am

Man, so I just deleted a paragraph by bumping the wrong button. So now I'm gonna write on wordpad and then copy it onto the facebook thing once its done. Not as bad as last time but still....

So anyways, the next thing worth writing about takes place in the form of a tour. Greg Norman, my self appointed local guide, helper, and would be drug dealer, pimp, etc etc etc.... ("Young girl? Young girl?" ...."Old woman?" ..Hah.) has a friend with a car who does tours for people. For all of 30$ I'm getting a full island tour including the volcano, some temples, a monkey jungle, barung barung dance... The works really. So Sunday morning around 7 30 I'm picked up on a scooter in front of my hotel, and taken to the drivers house. He shares a modest place with a couple other families, and they have chickens in amusingly small cages in the front yard. He's actually got a pretty nice car, A/C and everything. Its a little Rav4 style SUV, but some kind I've never seen before. Anyways we wait there for a while until about 8 20, because the Barong Barong dance doesn't start until 9, and its not too far away. The Barong Barong dance is a pretty cool local tradition, its pretty much a musical play that consists of people wearing huge weird costumes and dancing to local old fashioned music to tell an ancient story of a battle between good and evil. I wouldn't have understood anything except they gave me some very poorly written notes about the plot. They turned out to be not much help though, due to a slight misunderstanding on my part. See, all the boys in the play were played by boys...except the main character. So I'm reading the plot and I figure I understand pretty good, and I'm watching the play waiting for this main character guy to appear and the main conflict to start up, and it was maybe 2 minutes from the end when I realized this woman was supposed to be a guy, and I just in a way missed the entire thing...Oops. hahah still got some great pictures though.
Next up we're headed to a place where they make silver jewelery. On the way though people keep coming to the windows and trying to sell me newspapers. They show me an english one, so I try going "No engrish no engrish" so they ask where I'm from, I see russian and german papers...so I try Sweden. Up pops a swedish paper. My guides had a great laugh, so did I.
The Silver Jewelery place was pretty cool, saw a small part where people were making earrings out of silver and stuff, all done by hand and very intricate...then spent 20 minutes in a shop where some guy was trying to sell me stuff. I got out of there with my wallet unscathed and moved onto the next part.
This is the part I've really been looking forward to. The Monkey Jungle/Temple. Its this special part of the Rainforest in Bali which is full of monkeys, and its a little tourist part. 10 000 Rupiah for entry and another 10 for a bag of bananas and I'm in. Man this place is COOL. Monkeys everywhere, mama monkeys running around with baby monkeys on their bellies, mid sized monkeys scampering around, big papa monkeys showin their fangs and beards and posing/lazing about. I keep trying to feed smaller ones, and bigger ones keep taking the bananas. I sat next to one, fed him, and then patted him on the head...and he instantly rared up, showed some MASSIVE fangs and looked pissed off as hell!! I got out of there, I'm not interested in getting any new piercings... I got some great pictures there, one monkey managed to get in my backpack and steal a banana!! and another climbed on my head ........... but all in all it was really cool.
On to the Elephant temple! This place was beautiful, I had to wear a sarong to explore it but I forgave it because it was so incredible. I went in caves and saw some amazingly old stone idols, explored paths leading to mysterious abandoned caves with freaky carvings, and even found a hidden path down through a bamboo jungle to a blocked off bamboo bridge...I felt a bit like Indiana Jones. Didn't get chased by any giant rocks though, that was a bit of a let down. The pictures I took do it so much more justice than these words, I really can't describe the place.
Next we went to the top of a mountain, next to a volcano. The view was incredible, the restaurant we had lunch at...not so much. I learned about Bali's corrupt policemen on the way up, and then next we went to a temple of Holy Water. Here people come to collect bottles and jugs of holy water, pray, and bathe in holy water. My guide stumbled onto a side pond where a bunch of guys were bathing in the holy water naked...I gave that one a skip. At the end of the day we went to a beautiful beach and watched the sunset, and I went home.
The next night I was at the bar with Chris and I ended up meeting up with my future travel companions Richie, Rich and Nick. Rich and Nick are 2 british Marines travelling together, and Richie...is an interesting story. A brit who moved to Thailand 6 years ago, has owned a bar there and currently owns a guest house and 2 scuba diving shops, and never plans to move back to England. He just found out he's having a kid with his Thai girlfriend! Very cool guy, shows the diversity of what you can do with your life! We got pissed up, talked about the boys times in Afghanistan, scraps, girls, and a million other things, and then hit the hay around 3 am. Next day was a lazy one around the pool. Me and Rich went to go for a surf, and on the way I managed to slip on a spot of algae on some steps and ding my MotherF*@#-ing board. I was not pleased. At all. One bit. In the slightest.
We headed back and I was in quite a foul temper. Later on we decided to go down to the beach, I rented a board and surfed for a bit, had a decent time, and then comes time to go back. I'm still pretty nervous on my motorcycle, I've got Rich on the back, his board on the side, and traffic goin mad as I'm trying to pull out, and somehow I end up fucking up, giving it way too much gas, ending up going way too fast and out of control, and losing the bike, falling, sliding my knee along the ground and my helmeted head as well, and smashing up my knee and foot to a pretty brutal degree. It really wasnt my day. I got up, shook it off after a couple minutes, and just drove it home, planning to never ever ride the bike again. When I got back I assed the injuries, decided they were minor, road rash on the knee and cuts on the toe, cleaned them up and went out. After that a few more normal days went by, swimming in the pool, reading, chilling out, I wasn't drinking too much. And then the party.
Chris, one of the guys at the hotel is having a 21st birthday party, and the hotel is throwing a bit of a party at the bar. A free buffet, drinking games...etc...This is gonna get messy. So the night rolls along, the bintang are flowing heavily, the food is good, and everyones getting sloppy. We're playing all kinds of drinking games like "I never", Spoons, and a bunch of other weird ones I don't remember...and then comes when it gets really messy. The local girls have set the whole place up with balloons, and each one has a piece of paper with something written on it inside. They vary from, chug your drink to jump in the pool to get egg broken on your head or flower in your face...Chris goes first. SPLAT. Egg on his head, flower in his face. It continues like this for a while, with people in and out of the pool (I was in like 3 times), egg going everywhere, flower everywhere, until it basically turned into a food fight. Afterwards it settled back down to normal drinking games, and everyone worked off to the showers to get ready to go out. The night out was awesome. I think I danced with at least 3/4 girls in that club. Embargo again, then we headed to double 6...but it was 100% empty!! What the fuck?! This ended up with us swimming naked in the ocean and getting a cab home. The girls stole my underwear, I wasn't pleased. Awesome night in the end though. In bed around...say...4 am!
The main other highlights of Kuta are a couple good surfs, and some unreal meals at this restaurant called The Balcony. Massive Seafood Skewer, and Surf and Turf. Both highly recommended.
Next step: Get the HELL out of Kuta!! Wheee!! I took my board to be repaired in the morning, and picked it up around 5 o clock. The boys without bikes have a driver waiting, we stick our boards and bags in the car and we're off. Its going to be a 2 hour ride to Balian! This feels long as FUCK on the bike. By the time we get there my knees and ass and crotch are all killing me, but its been fun for all that its been exhausting. Balian is the real Bali. Up in the country in the middle of nowhere, cows and chickens everywhere, beautiful views good waves and not much else. We've been here since thee 17th now, 6 days, and its been unreal. First couple Nick and Ritchie were still here, so there was much bintang drunk, and a great fire on the beach. Ever since its just been me and Rich, reading, sleeping, surfing, drinking tons of water and eating small amounts of Indonesian food. Its really been great. Absolutely no stress, no worries, no anything. Just tons of sleep, eating healthy, out on the water alot, being lazy as fuck and reading good books. This week has been one of the best of my travels.
I've been thinking about back home alot since I've been here too, and how different its going to seem after all this travelling. I still miss my friends a ton, and I have to admit even with all these great people I've met travelling, theres something about the girls back home too. As much as I love travelling, its true, home really is where the heart is and its impossible to completely leave it behind. I called Durrell a couple days ago, hearing that hilarious cape breton accent got me excited for summer. Its gonna be great to be back with everyone, sitting around camp fires, drinking Canadian beer, smoking joints and just having a great time.
You think alot when you're travelling, theres lots of quiet alone time. Its funny, I feel like I've answered alot of questions I had about myself since I've been travelling, but for every one I've answered more have popped up. I finally feel ready to go to University in the fall now, I'm actually looking forward to it. I hope this Rugby Camp will toughen me up that I can play Football as well as Rugby maybe, even though I don't have much experience. I'm gonna have to keep in the gym hard this summer when I get home to stay in shape for tryouts though!
I do miss stuff about home. The food, my bed, Smudge(that goofy bastard), but most of all my friends and family. Travelling for 4.5 months is a long time when you're on your own. I hope next time I get to bring a bit of home with me in the form of a friend or a girlfriend.
Somehow this trip seems like a warmup for more travels, the fact my parents have been giving me money, I haven't been good enough at surfing to take full advantage of the waves, and just other things that I needed to sort out mentally and emotionally before I was ready to take 100% advantage of this opportunity are all finally sorting themselves out. As incredible as this trip has been and will continue to be, I know next times going to be even better. These travels will always have a special place in my heart as the first though. Cronulla especially as a place is going to have a spot in my soul forever.
To all my friends I've made while travelling, I love you all and I hope to see you On The Road again. To all my friends back home I hope you get to come with me next time.
Love your travelling Caper, Dave

Bali 3

Well, at long last I'm uploading some pictures. It says its going to take half hour or 40 minutes or something so I figured I'd write another entry in the mean time, fill time and stuff. Not nearly so much has happened as usual since the last one, its been a pretty slow couple days in Kuta really, I've been kept pretty lazy by the outrageous burn I acquired on my ankle by slipping while walking my motorbike. Heat+Exhaust+Clumsy Me=Very large and painful burn. Its keeping me out of the water, and actually keeping me fairly inactive, it even hurts alot when I walk. I hope it heals quick, I've been putting aloe on it pretty regularly. Anyways, since I've been in Kuta...
First afternoon I got here, well I'd lost Rich on the way in, I think I mentioned that before. I got ahead of him, and stopped at a gas station to fill up. He passed by before I could get to the road to wave him down I guess. Then, he stopped at a further gas station by the turn off to Kuta, which I missed entirely, because the signage was confusing, it looked like a one way street the other way..or something. Anyway he tore off after me trying to catch up, but he couldn't, so we'd thoroughly lost contact. Without cell phones or anything, I left a message on his facebook, and had faith in a certain plan of how I'd find him.
Next step: In Balian, I'd found myself both loving and hating my longboard in equal parts. On smaller days, or even just less sloppy days it was great, easier to catch waves, easier to stand up, etc etc, generally just easier. But on some days out there, pretty regularly in fact, its size became a real drawback. It is, sadly, impossible to duckdive well. So when you've caught a wave and you're in the way of the rest of the set, you generally get pounded all the way to shore, after numerous failed attempts to duckdive massive slabs of whitewash, feeling frustrated, possibly cut up, and bruised. Not ideal. I borrowed Rich's 7'0 Shortboard and it was unreal being able to actually duckdive and navigate out there, a little slower to paddle, and harder to catch waves but the compromise being that it was possible to get out alot easier, it seemed worth it. Its also a better feeling not being the only guy out there with a longboard. Having a Mal in the water, if you're not catching tons of waves, is like sticking a big flag on your back saying "I'm a kook beginner look at me I can't surf", and it really kind of messes with your confidence. Or mine anyway. I do love my Mal, and I can't wait to surf all summer with it on the smaller waves back home, but I felt a shortboard would be a prudent investment...
So, I have 400$ in back pay in Australia, as well as my income tax coming to me. This was originally going to be summer drinking money, so I wouldn't need a job for a bit when I got home in the summer, but I decided to suck it up, and spend that money on a coffin and a shortboard. Some might say I should have just sucked it up and stuck with the Mal, or maybe sold it if I wanted a shortboard...but anyways I couldn't get at the money, so I found myself in a familiar situation thats beginning to get a little hard on my pride, even if its a great comfort to my wallet: Asking my dad for some cash. I assured him its only a loan, that I had the money, etc etc, but he didn't really seem to care. He's honestly almost too generous with me, I'm quite a lucky bastard and I really feel it, and without any qualms he said he'd come through for me. Fuck yeah!! You are the man dad, couldn't be doin this without ya. Anyways, its time to go board shopping.
I headed over to Poppies II, a sort of alley/street combination around which almost all the surf shops are located. I spent about 3 hours going from shop to shop, drooling over board after board after board, getting excited and generally having a ball. I went to a ton of shops, easily 15 if not 20, and every one had one board that stood out as being a solid candidate. From 6'10s to 6'6s, all proper wide and chunky boards, varying in price and paint and shape and everything else, I considered a broad spectrum. All the whlie I was also looking at the smaller boards, and the big longboards, and in the case of the smaller ones wishing I was good enough (and perhaps not quite so chubby from my travels) to ride one of them, whereas with the bigger ones I admired them for their size and their implied speed and power and rideability. I wanted to buy them all. I must have cut quite the sight, dancing excitedly through the shops, admiring, touching, picking up, and scrutinizing hundreds of boards. I think the shop owners all got a bit of a kick out of me. I stumbled into non-surfboard shops, taking the time to check out some sick skateboards, and unreal carveboards, and all sorts of wonderful gear. In the end, I wandered into the Hot Banana surf shop and found her.
I went in and told them what I was looking for, and they pulled her out right away. A 6'6 x20"x 2 3/4 Swallowtail Tri-fish Alacantra. Something about her just clicked, it was exactly what I was looking for and I knew it. No fancy paint job, just a pure stick ready to get the job done. I was in love. I admired it for a while, talked price, talked board bags and deals and packages, and then in the spirit of good sense decided to go look some more. When I did, I found I wasn't really looking. I browsed 3 more shops half-heartedly, always thinking of the board in the Hot Banana shop. In the end, after maybe half hour more looking I decided I'd made up my mind. Maybe I just acknowledged that it was made up for me, I'm not sure. I went back to the shop, bought the board, a grip pad, a leash some wax and put in an order for a bag. I'd seen a sick Creatures 2-6 board coffin at one of the shops, but after I bought what amounted to the most expensive board I'd looked at, I couldn't justify splurging on the bag too. I got a simple Indo-made 8mm thick double board bag, black with camo sides, ordered in to arrive the next night. The guy at the shop put on the grip for me, far more carefully than I would have done so that was good, and I picked her up and headed for home. Walking home I could feel the board vibrating whenever one of the more guttural bikes walked by, and somehow it just felt right tucked under my arm. I got back to my room, waxed it up something nice, and set it up against the wall.
Sadly, because of my burn thats where it has sat since, while I have read the 3 surf magazines I've aquired cover to cover, a couple times, as well as finishing Jack Kerouacs On The Road for the 2nd time in my life (this being the first time actually on the road however), and generally being a bum and waiting to heal.
Oh. As to finding Rich, I went to the Balcony, this unreal restaurant we went to a couple times, around 8 o clock. I ordered my meal, and lo and behold right after my starter came in struts Rich with his newly arrived girlfriend Claire. She's just arrived, and they then headed straight to the Balcony. Rich said he was sure I'd be there. We were both right. Claire, who I'd heard much about in the time in Balian, turned out to be very cool, and quite pretty. Also, a very classic posh brit Accent, which I got a kick out of. Anyways, we're all meeting up tonight and then they're gonna come with me to Bounty to see if I can find the boys from OZ, Kavi Kruger Drew and who knows maybe Graeme. I wonder what they'll think of my purchase, or the fact that while I have gotten better at surfing, I still suck. We'll see, tonight should be interesting. I'm not gonna get too pissed up, Bounty is famous for having whores and girlboys lurking in the shadows...don't need any trouble from those quarters. Wish me luck.

Bali 4 (Formerly Bali 4/New Zealand 1)

June 19, 2007 at 7:19am
I'm putting this here to effectively call my own bluff and force myself to write about the massive amount of time thats gone by since I last wrote a journal entry before I forget it all. Heaps has happened..
Zoomin in Bali
massively sprained ankles
trips to dreamland
mad chillin with shlatvian south africans..and so much more after these messages from our sponsors!
..Tomorrow.

And I guess this is tomorrow isn't it. Shit this is going to take a long time.
What has it been, 3 weeks since my last entry?..I'm going to have to read the last one and see what the last thing I wrote about was..one second.

And alright I'm back. Man thats ages ago. Pretty much around the half way point of my month in Bali, and I've already left there and been in New Zealand for a week. This is going to be hectic...probably going to have to make this a multi parter...
How about scratch the New Zealand part of that title.

There. Done that, now time to write about what happened.
Well, me being an intelligent lad I got a Dettol bar of soap and went back to my hotel room at the Ayu Bed and Breakfast. My festering, throbbing burn is actually so bad its giving me muscle cramps, and yet still I ignore it. What, I think, is the worst that could happen with my magical Aloe Leaf and Dettol Soap? ..But anyways. I get cleaned up, burn and all, get dressed, and head out to meet up with Rich and his girl at Sky Garden. This is a massively cool club, very classy but a bit expensive with unreal live music and djs, great food, comfy couches, beautiful waitresses, and its on the 4th story of a little tower building. We started drinking 2 for 1 Heinekens up there, and somehow Claire managed to talk me into chugging one. And then another. And then I'm on a roll. Without eating dinner. So this is promising to be an interesting night. We hung out and chatted and drank for a while before heading over to Bounty where supposedly the SA crew is going to turn up tonight, according to Kruger about 2 weeks ago..
This was the beginning of a mad searching mission. First there was some confusion as to which club was actually bounty. There was one next door which certainly fulfilled the description of being full of Hookers and ladyboys, but after some indecision I realized that wasn't really Bounty it was some shitty club. I went next door to the real Bounty, still with Rich and Claire in tow, and wandered around looking for the boys. It was still fairly early at this point maybe 9 o clock, and I wandered around and drank Bintang for a while, going to the dancefloor, some crazy part where the Indos were moshing at a punk band, and a karaoke section before deciding to try some other places again. Somewhere around this point Rich and Claire decided to go home and leave me to my searching, I imagine I was pretty wasted so I didn't really mind too much. I wandered to some other clubs, and then worked back to Bounty. Back up on the dancefloor, I bottlebonged a Bintang tall boy or two, and was just enjoying my night having pretty much decided that the crew wasn't going to show up, when I was proved quite obviously wrong.
Kavi Fulena came grinning up the stairs, shirtless and dreads hanging, obvious as a clown at a funeral. This is one guy thats hard to miss or mistake for anyone else, and I was stoked as when I saw him. Soon after Drew's girlfriend Casey came up with Kruger, and the rest of the boys were downstairs. So began a beer fuelled night of enthusiasm about surfing, laughing, dancing, and finding out where to meet them the next day. I woke up the next morning with a throbbing head, leg, and a destination: Eric's Cafe, Dreamland.

Old Notes- A Big Package Part 3

what up guys, I'm back again with a new one!
this ones gonna be pretty short but sweet, just talkin bout life at cronulla where I'm at right now.
this place should be the subject of a movie or tv show or something, its the coolest place I've been in a long long time. Its soo laid back, huge tv room with couches and bean bag chairs, tons and tons of movies, right by the beach and the bars and the gym and the shopping, 150$ a week for a bed. Plus the guy who works here hooks you up with labour jobs in town! I'm setting up nets and volleyball courts for a huge beach party today and tomorrow!! 200$ for like 12 hours of work, not even badddd.
what really makes it are the people though. There are 4 swedish girls Caroline, Caroline, Emily and Anna.. more about them later, a few italian guys, the ones I know well are Luca and Caesar...Man they're funny guys. They both always cook pasta for everyone, Caesar is always dancing around and singing, he looks like a rockstar, long hair and tattoos and always wearing a fedora, and Luca is...well Luca is a hilarious guy. He's a bit slow, and a bit of a perv, but in a very funny, well meant kind of way hahaha he makes for some serious laughs. Then there are some french canadians, very laid back and cool, and a guy from vancouver graham(also very cool.) Then there are 2 english girls, Posh and Stubby(I dont know their real names, ones just always talking about 5 star hotels, and the other..is Stubby). Then 2 italian girls, Sophia and Francesca. Very italian, very cute, very cool.
Basically I'm loving it here, I'm known as either Dave or Nova Scotia to the locals. Everyone here likes to get high, chill out and watch some movies, go to the beach to surf or bodyboard or whatever, have a few drinks, and PARTY HARD. When the time is right.
Last night was a great night of drinking and hanging out, I chilled out with Caroline #1 alot...so it was a good night. hahah we're watching the family guy movie later I think? We got a bunch of new aussie students last night, and I got really hgih with them, and drank a few beers with Tommy the crazy irishman, and then everyone chilled out at the hostel and drank for the night, it was pretty cool.

Last night...well, last night I took 4 swedish girls to a movie. Hate me now suckers! hahaha I was just hangin out at the hostel, when 2 of the girls came and invited me to go to a movie with them. I found out after I agreed it was gonna be..Music and Lyrics. Starring Hugh Grant. Alright so I gotta roll with the punches. I went out back, smoked a few hits of the pipe first, got ready to chill out,a nd we walked down to the movie. I got my ticket, and played house of the living dead, and Caroline #2 came to watch. Then we went in and watched the movie. Imagine picking your seat with 4 swedish girls. As one of the guys at the hostel said, it was "very political". I ended up sitting with Caroline #1. The movie wasnt great.
after though we came backt o the hostel,a nd I was chilling with Caroline #2 again. We had heart to hearts about mvoies and went to bed.
P.S. How many of you have gone to a movie with 4 swedish girls?
P.P.S. The movie wasnt that bad, it was kind of funny at times. Lots of 80s jokes.

Anyways I'm goin downf or lunch now, then gonna hit the beach, come back and watch family guy with Caroline maybe, and go to the gym.

love you all guys, I'm reppin Nova Scotia for ya out here I promise hahah

I'm still in Cronulla, I've got a job here now. I'm working for a guy named Joe, at a company called Flowercino's Removals. Its a moving company, basically I get 20$ an hour to carry stuff around, its been a really easy job so far, with a beer at the end of every day for free. Lovin it.
Still stayin at the hostel, life is good here. Last night was a ripper, I went to a Rugby League game, Cronulla Sharks vs the Rabbitohs. It was quite an experience, League here is like...it. Its the big sport to watch around here, and this is the big league. The stadium isn't NFL size or anything, but its big, and the atmosphere is unreal. Got my drink on at a guys house in town before the game, then went in there, got rowdy, and had a great time. After me and Kyle(one of the boys from in town) went on a mission to the bars and all over, it was a solid night.
Basically my life consists of chillin out around the hostel, going to the beach, going to the local bars, bodyboarding, swimming, working and going out around town. Its pretty sweet, I can keep this up for a while. I should be here about a month longer.
After I'm gonna travel, to either Thailand or Bali for a week or 2, then New Zealand to travel, and afterwards I'm going to spend a month at the New Zealand Rugby Academy. I've been accepted to Bishop's back home, and I'm applying to RMC as well, I've gotta decide between them soon.
I miss you guys back home, I'll be back for summer.
Love your aussie adventurer

This long weekend has been insssssssssaaaaaannnneeeeeeeee!! Thursday I went into the city to this bar the Gaff, partied for a few hours, saw 300 in Imax at 1030 then went to this pumpin club called Cargobar til around 3 am, some italian girls drove us to this place Kings cross and we partied there for a bit......but it sucked, we got a cab back to cronulla, got home round 630...was up by 10.
Friday night wasn't too crazy, I was workin the next day......but I still got kept up til about 3 am, got up at 530. Fuck you terry.
Saturday night....was off the hook. At the Gaff again til like 3 then some girl took us to a strip club!! Once again, home around 630...up at 9.
Yesterday I got the camelbak out and got on the death mix and jagerbombs.....BLAHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahahah I only was out til like 1 or 2 but I was with these 4 girls all night...3 ozzies and this swedish girl ayla...you guys wouldn't even believe this shit man.
boiiiiiiis you need to be herrrreeeeeeeeeee its not the same without yas!! party up back home for me haha

I guess last weekend is a good enough story to start with......
My buddy Luca moved to bondi at the start of last week, and all week he'd been texting me and texting me, telling me I needed to come visit him in bondi, that the women were gorgeous and the partying was awesome. So Graeme and I were thinking that Saturday night we'd get a train down to Bondi and go party with him. Saturday night rolls along, and Tommy decides to join the crew. He's tagged as in the story...if you wonder what I was in for with him along for the ride, read some about him...the one where he shits on a train is pretty prime. But anyways, we get ready to go, get all dressed and I mixed up a camelbak of death mix (Mmm..death mix) with about 2/3 of a bottle of the main ingredient, they got some vodka, and we got on the train headed towards Bondi. We spent the ride down there drinking and carrying on, chatting up the girls that were on the train, and being a bit of a goon squad. By the time we got to Bondi, a bit over an hour later...we were plastered. The bus ride to Luca's is hazy at best, and the time at his house is even more blank...although I think I remember shots of Jagerbomb. We met his brazilian roommate, had a bit to eat, and waited for the primadonna s.o.b. to get ready, then we headed out. All night the plan had been to go to Bondi, but for some reason we ended up going into Darling Harbour near Central Sydney? It was a big night down there, and alot of the best clubs were either full or doing guest list/girls only. We got into a few of them, met some girls, and partied around Darling Harbour til say... Midnight? Around then we decided we weren't gonna get into any of the best clubs, and that we were going to go to somewhere else. Some time just before this, I'd decided it was time for me to get around to calling my sister and wishing her happy birthday. In my inebriated state I had to work through talking to almost my entire family just to get her number, from my stepmom to my grandparents to my cousin. Yikes. I got er done tho! But anyways. We got a cab and just asked the driver where somewhere good was to go. He dropped us across the street from some bar, and we're waiting to get across when Tommy sees a backpack hanging up in the bus shelter we're standing by and decides to go through it. He's taking things out, throwing them on the ground, trying to find something interesting when one of the guys whos working traffic or something on the street comes over absolutely flippin out. Turns out it was his backpack. Oops... Nice one. So we went to the club, another couple rounds of jagerbombs...we'd been on them all night, and we decided that it sucked. Graeme and Luca went upstairs, and left me with Tommy for a couple minutes. He wandered off, and I followed the other 2 upstairs to the dance club. We never saw Tommy again that night. Oops again. hahah
It sucked upstairs, we stayed long enough for another round of jagers and to dance a bit, but there were almost no girls and the music sucked. We kind of realized we'd lost Tommy, but we didn't know when or how, or what we were gonna do about it. In the end we just wandered out of the club, and started working our way to our classic city joint, The Gaff. Its a backpacker club with crazy contests like body painting and wet tshirts, cheap drinks, and some intense partying. Oh, and free beer from 9-10 if you're staying in a hostel. Boo Ya. Not that any of that was going on at 3 am when we got there, after maybe an hour and a half of wandering the city, chatting up more girls, getting boxes thrown at my ankle, and various other adventures/misadventures. By the time we got to the Gaff I was wasted, and I wasn't alone. The 3 of us were like the three drunksketeers, dancing like idiots talking to random people/girls, and partying our asses off. The night was pretty uneventful til the end, when I'm talking to two girls and in the process of challenging one of them to a dance off, and Luca comes up, and Graeme does too. Graeme disapproved of the girls, and he said so, they got pretty offended by that. Then Luca started dancing at them or something, and they started freaking out? They went around telling everyone he was creepin on them, and guys started looking menacing, I was pretty sure we were gonna get in a fight. Graeme managed to disappear, but I was kind of locked into the situation as the first guy to talk to them, a bit of a hapless victim. By this time its about 540 in the morning, and everyones feeling the effects. So the girls tell enough people, that eventually they told security, and they start dragging Luca out. I was laughin up a storm, thinkin how funny it was and how much it sucked...when at the last second they grabbed me too. Oops again. So we both got kicked out, I celebrated my first time getting kicked out of a club, luca swore a bunch in italian and called the girl crocodile dundee, and we went out front of the club to wait for Graeme, it was closing in 15 minutes anyway. In that 15 minutes, a bum tried to talk to us, and Luca made friends with 2 gigantic Italian guys. Weird. So Graeme came back out, and we got a cab back to Bondi. After passing out on Lucas couch for like 3 hours tops, I woke up, and stood up in my boxers..right as some english girl walked in. She got all awkward and embarassed, I groaned and pulled on my pants and stumbled to the sink. After maybe 3 liters of water, I was up and ready for some sort of action. We got Luca up, made fun of him for his porno collection, and headed to Bondi beach. Bondi beach is insane...its Huge. like H-u-g-e huge. And absolutely full of girls, tanning, and they don't like tan lines. We chilled there for most of the afternoon, tanning, chillin, swimmin, went to get some lunch at a thai restaurant nearby...all in all a solid day. After that me and graeme got the train back home...which was brutal, and took an easy night at the hostel. It was quite the mission.

Next update: I bought a surfboard. Thats right, yesterday afternoon I gave in and got the board, I'm ready to really start learning now. My buddy Kavi helped me find a good one, get it all waxed up, and then as soon as we were done buying it we went down to the beach to try it out. We were down there for a while, a couple hours probably, it was dartk by the time we were out. The board is awesome, it catches the waves so easy and goes really fast, its got bomb balance too..and it looks sexy as hell. I still suck, but it was practically my first day.. I wanted to go this morning before work, but I've got no groceries and my moneys all stuck in the bank til I go with my passport..and I work at 8, so I figured I'd be too wiped. Goin tonight at 5 tho!! Wish me luck. I got a board bag to take it home with too...There are some waves around N.S. to hit in the summer!
Thats a bit of a taste of what I've been up to lately, although theres so much more that I never write on here...just have to tell ya when I'm back!

Australia 13

Alright this time I'm not gonna accidentally delete the whole thing... hahah

Crazy. This is my last day in Cronulla. I've been here almost 2 months now! After my tour I spent 4 days in Central Sydney, staying at the Sydney Central YHA right near the station, and only a few minutes walk from Darling Harbour. Ever since then, probably around March 13th? I think.. I've been here at the Cronulla YHA. This place has been awesome, its totally another home in my books now. I'll be back here, 100%. UNSW maybe?
Ever since I first got here this place just had an unbeatable vibe. It has such a cool crew of people, is in a great location (3 minutes from the beach), and just somehow seemed to welcome me in. I met so many cool people here, from everyone around the hostel to the great friends I made around the town.
Its crazy to think its been almost 2 months here, but at the same time it almost feels like it was longer. I've experienced so much, had so many good times, big nights, and even bigger days since I've been here that it feels like a life time! From the first epic adventure on St Pattys day with everyone, to clubbing in the city with Luca and Graeme, to all the ridiculous parties at the hostel (baby party/tight and bright in particular..oh man..), and even the times hittin cones and makin music and boxing at Daves apartment, surfing down at the beach with the Van boys and so much more, even to my last night smoking a doob down on "The Ledge" with Charlotte, and havin mad heart to hearts(love ya girl, how funny was the impromptu wet tshirt contest!).
I've been to the local pub, Northies, more than a couple times, been to some very cool little local spots, skateboarded all over town, gone on missions to Bondi and Central, and had countless great days hanging out at the hostel watching movies, playing pool, havin some beers and smokin some ganja with all the super cool people from this crazy little neck of the woods.
Its crazy to think how different I probably am from this experience. I guess we're always evolving as people and changing, growing and learning more about who we are and what we want. I've definitely learnt alot of that here, some from experience, some from talking to some of the super cool people I've met here (big props on that one kavi boi), and just from growing up and getting older.
Another thing is how crazy it is that in such a short time, strangers can become friends and friends can become almost family. Everyone at the hostel kind of bonds because we all live together, but even outside that, from Luca's buddys Breon and Kyle and everyone, taking me to a rugby league game and welcoming me into their group, to Juiceboy Dave, Jimmy, Benny, and Luke who are just unreal guys, who went out of their way to be friendly and show me a good time, takin me with them partying and to secret local spots and to play music and drink and smoke and box and everything else with them, just because I guess I come off like a cool guy? You really learn to appreciate the kindness of strangers, and the ease of the transition from stranger to friend when you travel alone. It opens your eyes to how easy it is to lose yourself in one constant group of friends, and not meet new people and broaden your experience.
From Luca the crazy rich boy clubbin italian dj, to graeme the laid back canadian surfer/carpenter,to kavi the american/mauritian giant super chilled religious rasta, the van boys, drew and kruger the south african troughboys, charlotte kiwi girl extraordinaire, the french canadian boys jp phil and pat, tom the artist, alex and renzo the italians, simona, francesca, marie the norwegian/senegalese stripper, tommy, jez, and everyone else. There are really, really too many people to list that have just become unforgettable parts of my life, even if I may never see most of them again.
Living in a place like this kind of makes me wonder what I'm doing in Canada. Summer something like 8 months a year, and its still nice even in winter, right by the beach, beautiful girls, close to a big city but still a small town kind of vibe, its got everything you could ask for and so much more, but theres still something calling me to come home, at least for the summer. The moneys good here too! I was making 20$ an hour as a removalist, and 15$ an hour on most of my other jobs.
Oh well, time to move on. There are a million other cool places to see, and I've still got a few more on my list for this trip. Up next: Bali!
TOMORROW!! Jesus. I have so much to do to get ready today. I have to wash and pack all my stuff, get rid of some, make sure I have everything, buy my ticket to NZ, maybe change my ticket back home, although I have time for that before June, I can do it over the phone... Then I have to pay all my debts up, collect any debts owed to me, say bye to a bunch of people...damn its gonna be a long day.
It sucks knowing I have to get back out of being settled and get back on the road, but at the same time its exciting. Its a cool feeling knowing everything you have is on your back, and you're flying to a whole new part of the world. Bali is gonna be so incredible too. Its like that mythical tropical paradise where everything is cheap, the weather is perfect, the people are friendly, surfs up, fish are on and there are no worries AT ALL. I've heard tales of 10$ hotel rooms, 2$ hostel beds, 60 cent beers, 50 cent meals, spearfishing, scuba diving, surfing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, fishing, swimming, partying, and anything else you can think of just about. Its pretty much as good as it gets, and I've got 28 days there to enjoy it and bask in how incredible it is.
Can't be lazy though! Gonna have to be taking advantage of all the opportunites to be active, because the next month is going to be in NZ at a Maori run rugby training camp! Its on for 100% now pretty much!! Thats honestly kind of scary. I mean on this trip I've jumped out of a plane with a parachute on, jumped off a 50 meter tower with an elastic band around my ankles, been whitewater rafting and tons of crazy experiences...but this is the first thing I'm feeling a bit scared for. If I go there not in really good shape, I'm pretty much in for a world of pain. Maoris are some big motherfuckers. You guys ever hear of the New Zealand All Blacks? You see those big Samoan lookin motherfucks screamin the Haka? Thats what I'm gonna be going to play with.
Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bali 1

May 22, 2007 at 10:00am
So I haven't written anything in this little web journal since I've been in Bali, which all in all is probably good because it means I'm not wasting too much time of this tropical paradise on computers! But I've decided to bite the bullet tonight, the weathers not spectacular and if I'm back at the cottage I'll just be reading anyway. Its been 12 days since I arrived here in Bali, relieved and excited. It was quite a trip getting here too....
After my last entry I had alot to do, I got almost all my stuff packed during the day, did 2 washes, and got all the business taken care of. Said a bunch of goodbyes, took the fins off my board and packed it up, and everything else. I was up bright and early the next morning, my flight was at 10 and I was up by 6. I finished my packing, got some breakfast, said bye to everyone who was up and got some last minute tips from Kruger, then went to call the cab to take me to the airport...
And trouble. Turns out because my board is a 7'6 apparently I'm going to need a Maxi Cab. Which no one has. By this point its about 7 20 in the morning, and if I get a cab I'll be at the airport with plenty of time to spare for my 10 am departure. Easy peasy right? Wrong. I called all the cab services I could find, none of them had a Maxi cab they could send. Not one. So at 7 25 in the morning I find myself suddenly in a predicament. Off to the train station I ran. I got there just in time to watch the 7 30 train leave, and by this point I'm sweating. (Not from the run..it was short, and I've not turned into that much of a fatty in Cronulla..quite..) But luckily theres a 745 train. I'm having some serious doubts at this point about whether or not I'm going to be there in time to get checked in. This could be a very expensive oversight on my part, not calling the cab ahead of time... So I catch the train, which is conveniently packed (Remember that 7'6 surfboard), so I'm bumping people and trying to stay out of the way as much as possible, with my huge backpack and even bigger board bag. Train change one, I get off and dash down some stairs and to another platform where I have to wait 5 minutes for the next train, I'm feeling very antsy at this point..seeing 8 25 tick by on the clock when you're still 2 trains away from the airport with a 10 o clock departure is a bit of a nervewracking feeling. The train comes at about 830, and so I'm off to the next stop. After bumping a few asians and getting grumbled at some more about my surfboard and whatnot.. "backpackers.." I get off, and run to the next platform where the train to the airport is coming in 10 minutes. This is when the story gets a little more pleasant. Theres a gorgeous blonde girl waiting at the stop too, and we make some nice prolonged eye contact. She's wearing a business suit and carrying only a purse, but I still for some reason feel the need to ask her if she's catching a flight? No, she's not catching a flight actually but she works at the international terminal. I tell her about my situation, and she's very reassuring saying she's sure I can make it its not far now,( 9 00 am ticks by..) and where am I going? We chat a bit, turns out she's actually born in Russia, moved to Australia when she was 14 and works in a purse store in the departures terminal, although she had no Russian accent at all. We chatted a bit more on the train, and she helped guide me along once we got there, even jogging along with me up the escalators and through to the terminal, once she's seen me to the lineup for check in she wishes me luck and walks off. If I hadn't been leaving the country for good, it would have definitely been a good idea to go for a number. So it goes.
It turned out in the end that I wasn't the only person who was running very late for his plane, it was about 9 10, 50 minutes to departure and the lineup was friggin big. I ended up talking to the family behind me, and relaxing quite a bit at this point. It took a while but I got all my bags checked, and got some Australian money changed to Rupiah as well as the 25$ American I'd need for my Visa on arrival. Going through Customs I got hassled about my wash battered passport a bit, but eventually let through and I made it to the plane in a familiar situation: being called over the intercom as one of the last passengers. Oh well, at least this time I wasn't the very last.
I've learned to sleep on airplanes, trains, buses, and any other mode of transportation quite easily since I've been travelling so I spent the 6.5 hours of the flight pretty much entirely asleep. Finally they pass, and I wake up with about 25 minutes to landing. The excitement is really setting in at this point. After trying desperately to see out the window even though I'm in the middle row as we're landing, we finally disembark at the airport. When we get down into the area where they sell visas and have customs, bag pickup and etc I get an idea of what I'm in for. On the way down to the left there is an incredible temple like building, covered in intricate wood carvings and designs. I stopped to look for a couple minutes, fascinated. Then I continued on through what turned out to be a pretty painless set of customs, got my bags after a pretty long wait and headed outside. Now I have to deal with my unresolved problem of accomodation.....
I get outside, and first thing that happens a little man with pamphlets starts accosting me if I want accomodation in Kuta. Which is where I need to go at first anyway..Well this might work. So I haggled with him a bit about price on the spot, got a brochure written down with some prices, and got a taxi into town figuring on ditching if I didn't like the place anyway. Turns out here they can fit 7'6 surfboards into small normal cars...bloody Australians....so I get a ride into this out of the way Hotel called the Hotel Pendawa.
Man I can't believe I've written this much and I've only arrived at the first friggin hotel. There is no way I can catch up to where I am now in one sitting....Its funny I've been thinking all day how I've felt like writing, and I wasn't even necessarily planning on writing in this way, just a general story, I was thinking more of a journal style entry thinking about what I've done than just a list of the actions..but I guess first things first, I underestimated how much I would remember or something...shit theres so much more.. I should never have let myself get so far behind!
Blahh..but anyways so I get to the hotel, haggle a bit more about price, get a room...for about 20$ a night, cheaper than I was paying in Cronulla for a dorm room bed, but still pretty expensive for Bali. It turned out to be worth it though, both in experiences and friends made as well as the hotel itself. Hotel Pendawa is a very cool little spot, it has a restaurant called the Kama sutra where for a couple bucks you can get decent Indonesian and alright Western food, a nice little pool, great friendly staff and nice A/C rooms with shitty bathrooms hahah. I got into my room, which was a little bit of paradise to me after dorm life for so long... my own bathroom?!?! My own DOUBLE bed?!?!?!?!? ..Damnnnnnnnn......this is gonna be nice. Then afterwards I decided to go out and explore Kuta.
For anyone whos been to Mexico, in a way Kuta will definitely remind you of it. Every step you take people are trying to sell you something "Tshirt? Tshirt? Tour? ...Young girl? Marijuana? Mushroom? Massage? Transport?" Constantly hailed with a barrage of attempted sales, I'm not used to this yet. It was getting annoying, and 3 guys managed to corrall me into their shop. The boys had a bit of a ringleader in the way of Greg Norman, a local guy who turned into a bit of an impromptu tour guide for me over the next few guys, some times to my great appreciation...other times not so much. This night he did pretty well by me though. After I got the shirts, I asked them where was somewhere good to go for dinner...5 minutes later I'm on the back of a scooter, ripping down some tiny little alleyway on the way to a seafood restaurant in Jimbaran. This place is incredible. You take your pick of a selection of fresh seafood at the front, and they cook it right up for you while you sit on the beach and drink Bintang(the local Pilsener beer) and watch the sunset. I guess me and greg norman had a bit of a date. It was a bit weird, but I just decided to go with the flow. I ended up talking to some Saudi Arabian guys next to me, they passed me their hookah with some proper Saudi Arabian sheesha in it (like the real flavoured tobacco), now I hate tobacco...but this stuff was actually delicious, it tasted like apples and liquorice, and it was like glowing bricks, it was really odd but really nice. Then the food came, I had red snapper. 10 bucks, which at the time seemed really cheap, got me a decent sized fish, a big bowl of rice, and a selection of sauces to go with it. It was bloody DELICIOUS. Unreal, some of the best fish I ever had. At the end feeling very contented I was taken back to my hotel and retired, quite wiped, to my room. The next day I rented my motorcycle. Most people around there have scooters, but I managed to negotiate myself a manual real motorcycle for about the price of an automatic scooter..a luxury I have been absolutely loving lately. After this I set off to learn to ride the thing. I read in a guidebook that Bali is not an ideal place to learn to ride a motorcycle...BLOODY RIGHT. The traffic is INSANE. People passing on all sides, dodging and weaving and crossing centerlines with abandon, there is a mad chaos to traffic that is very intimidating at first. I drive aimlessly, heading this way and that as I get the hang of riding this motorcycle. More than once I hear angry cries of "turista", when I do something stupid. Oh well, gotta learn somehow. I managed to get a ways out of kuta into quieter roads, when I realized I was sold a bike with NO GAS. I hopelessly tried to find a gas station, to no luck, but luckily in Bali there is a gas black market. Stands at the side of the road sell it for 5000 Rupiah a litre, about 500 over gas station prices. I got a few liters in a tank at one of these stands and then continued on my way. By this point I am lost as hell, but that was part of the plan. Its not a huge island, I figure I can get back to my hotel easily. So I keep driving, going down this little side road until I find this quiet little beach with huge waves and only one person surfing, and no one on the beach! I decided to sit there for a while and watch the guy surf. More people came and tried to sell me hats and paintings, but after a few minutes of nos they become contented to sit with me. I talked to them a bit, and eventually the surfer got out after not catching any waves. The locals told me he was canadian...but he was spanish. We ended up talking about the beach, which was a bit of a secret local spot, and the locals, and this that and the other, and I got him to guide me back to Kuta. He showed me a main road that went straight into it, I thanked him and went on my way. I managed to get into Kuta...but once I was there had no idea how to get to my hotel. I ended up driving around a bit, and then right through it, all over the general area in circles and criss crosses and assorted patterns, until eventually I got back into familiar territory. In the end I asked for directions to my hotel, and they told me "Oh, easy, right straight then left", so I followed this...no luck, and I tried again. And again. And a few more times, getitng more and more frustrated all the time. In the end after a few hours of trying, I turned down the unmarked alley that you had to go down to get back to the hotel, and returned very tired and very frustrated and not sure I could do it again. I talked to some of the friends I'd made from around the hotel, and they managed to convince me to drink with them and go out, even though I was planning on not drinking much in Bali. So it goes. It was me, Chris (a 21 year old guy from Jersey, which is part of the UK in an odd way), and some local girls from the hotel, Teeney, Mango and Ani. Ani, by the way, is gorgeous, a model, and Teeney is pretty decent herself, Mango...is funny. Gotta love her. So we go to one club, the Sky Garden, which wasnt bad...then onto the next, Embargo. Embargo is an unreal club, one of my favourites since I've been travelling, sick mix of hip hop playing, cheap drinks and TONS of hot girls. It was a good night.
The next day...was a bit lazy. Hung out by the pool, swam, read, chilled, etc. The Indo boys came around at night determined to take me somewhere and do something, I let them take me to one of their shops but I didn't buy anything, ended up going home and pleading tiredness.
But I'm gonna do the same now I just can't bring myself to write more tonight. I'll continue tomorrow, man theres so much more I haven't even got to any of the good parts yet. Theres still a huge party, surfing, some very cool friends, an incredible tour, a motorcycle accident(very minor), board dings, a ridiculously long motorcycle ride, and a massive change of scene from kuta..and still more. Til tomorrow.

Old Notes - A Big Package Part 2

Australia part 3

February 9, 2007 at 6:44am
woah I'm falling way behind on these this is gonna take a while to write, I've just been doin so much its gonna be hard to even try to write it all but i'm going to try anyway
so from where i left off, we went inside the hostel and kept drinking for a while, and it came time to fire up the grill and get some food on the go. i'd already volunteered to be designated grillmaster, so I got down to work, already about 3/4 in the bag hahah. we were the loudest group there, havin a ball, and we attracted a couple canadians from other groups to come chill with us. So anyways I grilled up all the sausages burgers and everything, it was absolutely steaming hot and i was sweating up a storm, not to mention the grill was pretty much a skillet, it didnt have bars, and it was sprayin grease all over me, pretty much ruined my tshirt and shorts hahah. but im a pretty practiced BBQer so I did a decent job cookin everything, they all loved it, we feasted and then got back to drinking. me and the tour guide mark got pretty smashed, hangin out and shootin the shit, i was makin fun of felicity a ton, everybody was lovin it, but before i knew it everyone except me and mark had gone to bed. so i was hammered, chllin in australia, and all of a sudden i was like fuck man...i could really go for a joint. now on the trip description it said any drugs found you'd be kicked off, but mark didn't give off the disciplinarian kind of vibe...so I asked him if he had any, and he was fuckin pumped!! he told me he brought a half O of the green, said he doesn't usually bring it on tours but he just had a funny feeling about this one. so we grabbed a bunch of beers and headed out to the tour van, we rolled up 2 or 3 fatties and smoked em, and kept drinking the beer, and before I knew it I was fuckin crunkkkk and havin heart to hearts with mark hahahah i started trippin balls that I was actually in australia for a bit, talked about all sorts of shit. and then he asked how long i was staying, i told him 6 months, and he asked me if i wanted to join him on the drive back to sydney when its all done, so that talk went on for a few minutes, and by the end of it I think he's gonna go off the radar, post ahead in cairns, and me and him are gonna actually do our own little tour with whoever wants to buy on it from alice springs back to sydney, which is going to be unreal. he's a crazy motherfucker, but a right on guy. so anyways, we went back to the rooms and passed out, got up the next morning around 6
this day comin up is absolutely unreal. so we left the place we were staying by 7 am and got on the road, and then headed along towards byron bay. when we got there, we headed up to this lighthouse thats the most eastern point of australia, the view there was unbelievable, I got a ton of great pictures, and then we headed into the actual town of byron bay. I have to say, I don't know if I ever was in a town with a cooler vibe than byronn bay, its a big time surfing hot spot, the whole town just has this unbelievable laid back vibe. absolutely fuckin beautiful too, probably like 35 degrees out this day. so the plan for the day is one of our first optional activities: surfing lessons. me, felicity, nicholas, and sylvia hit up the surfing lessons, we had 3 hours to try and learn how to surf. so we got there and met our instructor, skinny guy with a little scruff and probably the longest hair I ever saw, with maybe the hottest girlfriend I've seen since I've been in australia. this guy was a seriously cool fucker named fletch, and he handed us out some rash shirts and some boards and took us down to the beach. first off we swam to get a bit of a warmup, then we went to the beach for a little theory lesson. he tauhgt us some stuff about the equipment, nose tail fins deck rails etc of the board, talked about safety, and then told us the basics of how to surf. I was pretty sure I wasn't gonna get up once the whole time, I'm not a big one for balance. but then after that we headed out to the ocean to see what we could do. now i gotta tell u, surfing is hard, but it was easier than I expected. after a bunch of huge wipeouts, blown attempts, etc etc, i finally managed to catch a wave and stand up for a couple seconds. man that was absolutely unreal, i couldn't believe how cool of a feeling it was. I was hooked right away. only problem was though, i was a bit heavy for the little boards they had, so i kinda sunk in a bit and lost speed pretty quick. it was a bit of a sketchy run, but it was still a ton of fun. so I kept trying for a while, it took me a while before I caught my next wave, but this time I really had a good one. the girl took a picture of me where i actually look like a fuckin pro surfin up a storm, and i was just lovin it. never had another one as good as that the whole time though, the waves got a bit smaller and they werent really big enough to take me to much speed. I still had a few more decent ones though, and had a wicked time. so after that we got on the bus, and headed towards surfers paradise. I had a bit of a bad feeling that I'd gotten a sunburn, but I didn't worry about it much. Surfers Paradise sounds like a little surfers town, like byron bay actually was, but really it was a hardcore tourist town, super commercial. It was cool, but not nearly as cool as byron bay. so we got to our hotel(With A/C!!!!!!!!!!!) WOOO.. and then went out to explore the town a bit. Man, the girls there were absolutely unbelievable...but that was pretty much the best thing about it. Thats where I wrote Australia part 2 at, in a little internet cafe in the basement of our hotel, sitting next to an asian hooker, after a weird little gay asian sold me the time card. Interesting experience that was anyway hahahha. but after that I headed upt o the lobby, to meet people to go out for dinner. now at this point, i should mention we're getting up at 4 am the next day. but anyways, so we're waiting up there, 7 o clock rolls around and we're all in the lobby about to go to a italian restaurant for dinner, and this guy comes in wearing a shirt that says "Big Night Out: The Party Bus! Backpackers big night out!" and I asked mark about it. He told me it was absolutely unreal, but if I went out on it I wouldn't be gettin back til 3 am. So I had about a minute to make a serious existential decision. I could go to dinner, come bakc, have a couple drinks with my tour group and go to bed and get some sleep to be ready to get up at 4 am the next day, go to moreton island, and do a sand dune hike, sandboarding, and a tour of the island.....or I could go on the crazy party tour, probably not sleep at all. but have a ball.
guess what I chose

Yeah, fuckin rights I went on the party bus!!!!!!!! I asked buddy just as he was leaving if he had room for one more, paid my up front cover charge, and joined the group. there were a couple canadian girls, a british guy, and some other people in the van taking us over to the hostel we started off from. So i started talkin to everybody, seein what they were like, checkin out what this night was gonna be like you know the basics, and then we got to the hostel we were starting off from. So I found out when we got there we got 6 free drinks as part of the package, and the first one was a free shot. So I got 2 beers from the bar, chugged them both, had everyone starin at me like holy shit what is this guy doin, and then we got on the shots. they laid out a bunch of them, and i grabbed a bright blue one. it turned out to be blue curacao, wasnt bad. so i had that, then bought another 2 beers. I started talkin to this smokin girl from canada, downed my beers, and went back and got another 2. And when i got there, I noticed there were some shots left over. So i chilled by the corner of the bar, and every time she turned around I'd steal one of the left over shots. So I had the 5 of those 2 sambuca and 3 blue curacao, everyone there is now startin to wonder if I'm fuckin crazy. So I was talkin to a bunhc of people there about rugby, braggin about how wicked cape breton was, and how cool nova scotians are. I told everybody canadas a hard drinking country, where nova scotias the hardest drinking province, and cape breton was the hardest drinking part of it. So I set the bar high for myself pretty early hahaha. So I kept drinkin there for a bit, another few beer the count gets a bit imprecise at this point, and then the bus came to pick us up. Once we got on there, there were a fuckin TONNN of other backpackers on it, all plastered, mostly not as far gone as me though hahahah so I was talkin to a bunch of them, and then we got to the first club. Things get prettty hazy for a while, but I had a bunch more drinks, danced wiht some girls, and generally had a bomb time at this club. then we headed on to the 2nd one. I do remember this night a bit, but not really well enough to tell you the story about it, but lets just say i was on a proper cape breton drunken teaaarrrr moooffuuuckkaassss!!! eyeyey hahahah so I think I lost the tour group at that bar, but I was there til about 2 in the morning havin a bomb time, but I was way too drunk and I got shut down by all the pussy in the bars. Amateur mistake drinkin too much, but I got caught up in showin off for nova scotia/cape breton, so whatever i still represented hahahah so I'm walkin down the street, and these 2 girls come up to me and grab my ass andf they're like hey there, next thing I know they're talkin about threesomes and shit, tellin me to come to a club with them. sso I'm like yeha fuckin AAA wooo drunk as fuck at this point, not payin alot of attention. So we get to the club they're takin me too, and it turns out to be a fuckin strip club! So I'm like whatever, go with the flow, chilled in there for a bit watched a few dances and all that shit, they had one girl in there who was like a skeleton with water baloons on her chest, really creepy lookin, but they had a smokin hot blonde girl who really did a great job hahahah so I'm absolutely plastered, and I ended up gettin a lap dance from the blonde girl, and then I headed back to my hotel room. by the time I got there its 3 am, I'm gettin up in an hour, and I don't remember which room I'm in. I'm pretty sure its 93, so I knock on the door and one o the girls on our tour answered and i was just like...shit. Sorry, apologized a ton, and she told me I was in room 99. So I walked to the other end of the hall, thought about just lseepin there outside the door, but eventually i knocked and got let in. by the time I got to bed it was 315 in the morning. that was a fuckin LONG. long. night.
so I wake up at 4, with rantik tellin me I have to pack all my shit and be ready to go. I Don't even really rememb er packing, but I know I did a shit job. I made it down to the bus, and passed out wiht my head on the seat in front of me. I woke up at about 7 am with everyone talkin about me and laughin at me, and i pretended to be asleep for a while to see what they said. I can't remember what it was quite, but they said something I found hialrious, and I started laughing and blew it. So I stayed awake for the rest of the drive, and I started to realize I was horribly, horribly sunburnt on my arms and face. absolutely fried, from the surfing lesson. So we get to the ferry to moreton island, i had some cocoa puffs for breakfast, drank about 12 litres of water, and then we got on the ferry. by this point I'm only about half dead, actually getting a bit responsive, and I asked what our plan for the day was. then I remembered...3 km hike up a sand dune, in the blistering sun, and sand surfing. my arms are fuckin gloowwinng red at this point, i'm worried about them peeling, I actually wore my rain coat the whole time with the hood up to keep the sun off them, with my aves on and my hat pulled down over my face, tryin to get as little sun as possible. So the ferry ride wasnt too bad, I mostly got over my hangover, but I was tired as all fuck, and so sunburnt if I got another ray that day I was gonna peel like a fuckin clementine. So we got to moreton island, where we landed on the beach there was a shipwreck just a few feet away, and we were picked up by big 4WD jeeps. There are no roads on that island, only sand paths, so all the driving has to be done in 4wds. they tooku s to our huts, and we had til about 1 to decide what we were going to do. the hut was pretty cozy, not even a bad little spot, and I was chillin and reading my book, tryin to dcide if I wanted to go with them for the day of if I was too sunburnt/hungover. In the end I pussied out, I was a bit pissed at myself but I knew I would have fried/passed out. I napped the whole afternoon while they were gone, and it turned out I missed out on a bit of a half decent day, but it was pretty rough. The hike was brutal, everyone hated it, but the sandboarding sounded pretty cool. Except for rantik, he got sand in his eye, let go of his board, anbd basically psent the whole way down getting sandjobbed. I saw a picture of him, and he actually looked like the sandman or something, you could hardly even see his skin.
so i got up, wasnt even feeling bad, and I chilled in the shade had a couple beers and the girls started cookin dinner. While they cooked dinner, we headed donw to watch the sunset. the sunset was absolutely beautiful, amazing, but we were swarmed by frickin horseflies the whole time. I HATE fuckin horseflies. one bit me on the tip of my bird once, and ever since then I've had some serious beef with them. I managed not to get bit though, killed a bunch of the horseflies, and we headed back up to the place for dinner. The lasagna was actually bomb, and then after that me mark and eleni started to get on the piss(ie started drinking). So we started up a bunch of drinking games...that no one actually drank for, I've got some funny ones to show you guys when I get home now. 21, matchsticks/forks/spoons, and I can see the moon in the spoon. so we played that for a bit, and slowly but surely everyone dropped off to bed except me mark and eleni. it was at this point mark revealed to me hbe'd underestimated me, didn't think I'd even be alive that night let alone up for getting high, so he'd left the dope on the mainland. I got over it pretty quick though, didn't really care. now the conversation we all had, I don't even know if I can tell you guys it. it was sick, twisted, hilarious, and incredibly messed up. lets say some highlights were drugs, anal g-spots, and pissing in girls mouths. Me and mark were the last men standing, but by as early as around 1130 we hit the hay too. I supposedly snored all night, nicholas was a bit pissed at me the next morning, but whatever, he didn't really care. I woke up, and my sunburn had faded a ton though, so I was ready to actually go out and enjoy the next day.
(WOOOO I've actually made it to today!!! this took me a long ass time. hope this stories still good, ive been in a bit of a rush hahah)
so the plan for today was a pretty laid back beach day. we had breakfast, packed up our stuff, and got into the 4WDs to head towards our first stop at the lighthouse. it was built by a bunch of convicts back in like 1850 or something, and it was pretty cool, but what was way cooler was if you went just past it to the cliff, you could look down into the water and see absolutely tons of sea turtles swimmin around. so we checked that out for a bit, and then headed ot the next beach for lunch/scuba diving/champagne rocks/honeymoon bay. We took the 4wds there again, man let me tell you driving on sand roads in a 1990 toyota land cruiser is a seriously bumpy ride. my ass is still a bit sore hahah,
so we got to the beach, and it was pretty wavy there, but the first thing we did was go snorkelling. I was the first one in, and I saw probably rthe most fish, but compare dto alot of snorkelling I'd done it wasn't actually that great. there was a really cool yellow and black angel fish, and a couple cool triggers,, but otherwise mostly strong currents an dlots of rocks. but after that we headed over to champagne rocks, which turned out to be really cool. theres this spot right on a point of one of the coves, where theres a bunch of rocks right where some huge waves focus at, so they smash over the rocks and make a really cool foamy effect, as well as giving you a serious pat on the back in the process, sometimes even knocking you arond. about the 5th one after me and mark got there gave me a serious slam, almost into some rocks, but it was seriously cool. We hung out there for a bit, got some great pictures, and then walked over to honeymoons bay. The walk over there was brutal, it went from sharp rocks to blistering hot sand back to sharp rocks again, but it really was absolutely beautiful though. You can't swim there, cause theres too many sharks, but it was still really cool to look at. After that we headed back to the first beach for lunch.I spent most of the time after this hiding in the shade cause my sunburnt forearms were seriously feelin fried again, but we had a good lunch, and then we headed over the blue lagoon. More 4WD driving, more bumps, but then we got there and it was definitely worth it. It was a big freshwater lake, all infused with eucalyptus from the nearby trees. It soothed my arms something wicked, and it really felt great to swim around in the freshwater. We chilled there for a while, threw some balls around, and after that we headed back to the ferry to go back to the mainland.
I had a junk food feast on the ferry, 2 ice creams, some chips, a pop, and a chilled mars bar. (awesome on a hot day), and we had some more hilarious conversations about penis pumps, cpr, viagra, and all sorts of other fucked up stuff. After that we got back to the mainland, got into the vanbus, and we drove here to marichidoo at the hsotel where we're stayin, I was in the back cuddlin and jokin around with felicity and eleni, and talkin about fightin the whole way. we stopped at a7-11 and I got more junk food, including an awesome huge slushie. highly recommend em. But after that long drive, we finally made it here to the hostel. We're ordering pizza for dinner as we speak, and we're just gonna chill out here all night. Tomorrow I'm goin to Australia Zoo, thats Steve Irwins zoo, and its gonna be awesome. I'm really pumped for that,
but I'm gonna go get some pizza and a shower and all that good stuff, I'll be talkin to all you cold, dreary, bored mofuckas another time hahaha
PEAAAACEEE

alright once again I've left it way too long between notes, this ones gonna be a bit moreso short and sweet though I think I'm not feelin up to writing a super long one, I've done a ton since the last one though!
first off, australia zoo was bomb, steve irwin was THE MANN. hahah it was an incredible place, they had live crocodile feedings and all sorts of cool stuff, it was a realyl fun morning. after that we drove up to this place airlee beach, to the hostel Magnums we were staying at. this place was a real party central, it was pretty cool. so we're there havin a few drinks and I heard "Who wants to go in a beer chugging competition" or so I thouhgt, so I went up to the stage feelin like I was gonna win myself some cool shit or something and get free beer in the process. but it turned out ti was a competition FOR a beer jug. I ended up running aruond the crowd on a tear getting condoms and bras and all sorts of random shit from a bunch of people, it was kinda fun but it kinda sucked too i was really sweaty and gross at the end and i didnt win anything, i was in the final four but I got eliminated there. my group left me because I took so long too. but things got better. the next competiton they said make groups of 4, and I saw 3 really hot girls go up without anyone else to go with them, so I figure god helps those who help themselves, and I went up and joined them hahah they were a south african and a brit and an american, all early 20s blonde and smokin I was feelin good aobut this contest. then they announced what it was, and I was feelin great: Orgy Position competition. hahaha we had to make as many orgy positions as we could in thirty seconds. so our turn came, I'm lying on the ground, one girls sitting on my face, anothers riding me, and the last one is between my legs licking my balls(imaginarily with clothes on..still ogod shit tho hahah) we got 3 more positions and I came out of it feeling like a winner even thouhg we got second place to a group of all guys. I'm sure even though they got free beer, I got a better deal. so i was talkin to those girls for a while but their group was all on some exclusive pub crawl and they left, i just went and crashed because we had to be up really early the next day.
the next day we went out on this racing catamaran called camira, sailing throuhg the whitsunday islands and snorkelling and stuff. I spent the morning sleeping out on the mesh on the front and loving life, got a bit of a sunburn and then went snorkelling. the afternoon I napped inside because I was already burnt and I didn't want to fry, and when I came out my group was loaded. it was pretty funny, they made a big scene and I got to watch, switching up the usual roles.
that night we went to the same bar at magnums, but this time I didnt enter the crap competition, rantik did he had to blow up a condom that was pulled over his head with his nose, he won us some beer actually and the pictures are hilarious. the next day was pretty crazy, first real adrenaline day of the trip. woke up in the morning to go fly on this plane claled tiger moth. it ws a combination scenic/aerobatic flight, where we went and flew aroudn the whitsundays again and say some beautiful views, and then he did loop de loops barrel rolls combos of both and a wicked stall where he even turned off the engine, that was pretty awesome, the gs in the flips were awesome. after that we drove pretty much all day, to get up to mission beach...for skydiving!! we got there just in time, and me sylvia eileen felicity and eleni all got suited up and flew up to 14000 feet in this jalopy of a plane. the door was open the whole time, and you could see the world getting smaller and smaller! it was really cool. i was last, so I watrched everyone else get sucked out the door and go, strapped onto my tandem guy, and went to the door. I sat and hung my legs out, and looked down all i could see was clouds. head bakc, arms crossed, and out we went!! it was fucked, we did a bunch of flips, and then we started falling through this cloud. by this time we were going about 200 km/h down, and the cloud was full of little ice particles that REALLY sting at that speed. after that we were out, and it was awesome freefalling. its weird though, its so surreal its not that scary its just like...its cool, but I didn't even get that much of a rush out of it like I did and I didn't, tons of fun, ubt it just felt like it was really really windy or something? hahah but we deployed the chute and did a really smooth beach landing, and headed to scottys for the night. that was a bomb hostel, I met a bunch of cool people from all over the world, chliled smoked some joints had a few drinks and generally had a good time. the next day was fuckin sweet too, we went whitewater rafting on the tully river. its a category 4 whitewater river, which is the highest level of safely navigable river in the world. this day was awesome, it was me and 5 girls in our boat, with our guide named Camo who was a fuckin unreal guy. the whole day was awesome, tons of fun, we flipped our boat and navigated a bunch of crazy rapids. it was a full day trip, but every minute of it was really great fun it was one of my favorite days on the trip so far. that was valentines day, so that night I wnet out to the bars and played a little matchmaking game. i got partnered up with a real bitch though so it kind of sucked, but it was still a fun night out in spite of it. after that we drove to cairns, stopping for a rainforest walk, to swim by a waterfall, and in another river on the way. the waterfall had a natural rock slide you could go down that was really a ton of fun, but the river wasnt actually that great. awesome day though. we got to cairns that night, which is where we still are now. were staying in a hostel called bohemia central, its pretty cool. we went out for mexican the first nihgt, and it was a great meal. after that we had a few beers and hti the hay, early morning the next day. it was another catamaran sailing day, this time on a paradise passions boat out to the barrier reef. it was us and a bunch of american college students on exchange, so I cozied up with some of the girls from there on the nets on our way out to the reef. when we got there I swam over to the island, snorkelled around, saw stingrays and sea turtles and tons of coral and other fish, until it was our turn go scuba diving. our guide was a super cute ozzie gilr, and she led us around the reef for about half hour to see all sorts of cool stuff. i jacked off a cucumber and made nicholas laugh so hard he almost drowned. after that we went straight over to paradise reef, for the 2nd scuba diving. this one was way bette,r they made a big deal of showing us clownfish(Nemos!) hahah and we actually saw some sharks which was my favourite part. the reef was absolutely incredible, I'm soo glad I dove it I saw so much beautiful stuff, i love diving. I resolved to get certified that day thouh. gotta get er done. So after that we came back into town in cairns, and we went out to this place claled the woolshed for dinner. 10$ got me a huge steak a beer and some fries, best meal I had on the trip, and then we all got loaded. I had all the women on the trip dancing on the tables and having a great time, then me and mark went off on a tear all over town. I nearly got in about 5 fights but mark kept me out of them every time, and the night was pretty hilarious, I didnt get in til around 4 am. Luckily today we didnt get up til around 11, to go BUNJEE JUMPING! this was easily the best day of the trip so far. we went just 20 minutes outside of cairns to A.J. Hacketts bungee tower, 53 meter bungee jump. I started off with the Minjin swing/1 Jump package on marks advice, he figured I'd only go once or twice. was he ever wrong. hahah so I went up for my first jump, just a basic forward one. Fuck man it is SOOOOOOOOO Awesome I am in love with bungee jumpuing, the rush is just incredible. you stand on the edge of the tower and loook down and you're like fuckkkkkk then he counts down 5 4 3 2 1 and I just went for it soon as I heard one. it was the most fun i've had in ages. after that I went in to ask right away if I could upgrade to unlimited jumps. I had to, I knew I was gonna be goin a LOT. everyone on the trek was pumped I did it, gave them the courage to do it. I had to do the minjin swing with rantik next, which was also pretty cool its kind of like the one on jack osbourne no fear? but not quite as high. Right after that though I ran back up to do my 2nd jump. This time I went backwards, which was twice as cool as forwards. as soon as I got down from that I ran back up to go again, this time they dangled me from it backwards and let me go when I wasnt expecting it. then i went up again, and this time I did one claled the reverse elevator. you hold your neck and jump off backwards looking up the whole time, that one was a RUSHH because yuo have no idea when the grounds xcoming and when the bungees going to catch. after that I did one called the titanic, there were big waits between jump so by this time it was 330 and the end of my unlimited jumps was coming up. so they dangled me out face first and dropped me, and this time they let me go into the water almost all the way up to my ankle.s that was really really cool. id asked the guys after this about doing a roof jump, where you climb up on the roof of the tower and do a running leap off. it was an extra 15$ but I had to get it. so i went up, waited my turn, and then it was roof jump time. man it was even scarier than my first time doin it, it wasnt much higher but it seemed wayyy higher because there was nothing around you. you had to just run and do a big leap of faith out. so 5 4 3 2 1 and I just booked it and dove out, it was a huge rush. fuckin incredible. evryone there was really impressed i managed to do 6 jumps, and I knew I HAD to get the video of it if I did so many. I did, and its cool as fuck, I'll show everyone when I get home just to prove I really did all this shit. I set a record for my tour company for most jumps done in one day, I doubled the old one actually, and ti was the best day of my trip so far. after that we went back to town, got pizza and a couple beers, and went out for dinner. i had an ozzie platter, Kangaroo, Crocodile, and steak. it was only like 25$ not even bad, and it was actually really good. crocodiles actually delicious, like fish with the consistency of steak kind of? hard to explan, but I loved it. after we just went back to the hostel, had a beer or 2, and I decided to get my internetting done before heading off to bed. gotta be up at 6 tomorrow to pack and head out by 7. Shite. PEACE

Australia 6?

Alright..soo..since my last note its been something like 3 weeks of travelling? That wasnt even half way through the trip. it gets a bit more spread out from here though, with alot more driving. After we left Cairns we were in for alot of driving and staying at some small towns and stuff. First off, after about 8 hours of driving through flat deserts, seeing a couple snakes and lizards, and not alot of anything else, we worked our way to the little town charters towers. I dont remember much about it there...kind of blends in to the whole drive up, it wasnt a bad little town though, we just made some dinner had a few drinks and then got on the road again the next day. The next stop was Mount Isa, a mining town in the middle of nowhere. we had a pretty cool place to stay there, the bathrooms were CHOCK full of green tree frogs, some of them as big as your fist, and the floor was covered in cane toads. That was pretty trippy. All the newspapers front pages advertised a bounty aimed at kids for Cane Frogs: 40 Cents, dead or alive! They're having a really big effect on the environment there and really damaging local ecosystems because they have no natural predator becuase they're so poisonous. I batted one with a traffic cone, and felt like I was doing my bit for the environment, if in a bit of a perverse way. The dutch crew made a really good dinner there, and then I went back to the room where me nick and rantik made fun of Ricardo alot.
Now that I think about it, this is as good of a time as any for a bit of a description of the trip dynamic, as we gained and lost some people in Cairns.
For the first part of the trip this was the roster, in order that I met them
Me: you already know me
Rantik: 36 year old Indian American Anasthesiologist, prone to saying "Also" and " I hate_________" although in very cynical and funny ways. Rantik turned out to be a really cool guy, really funny, bit of a wimp but altogether a solid addition to the trek hahah he whined alot about hiking but was a really nice guy, and provided alot of amusement
Brooke and Jennifer Summers: canadian sisters in their mid to late 20s, both very cool girls. met up with me and rantik for the pre trek drinks, pretty much classic canadians, laid back good sense of humour etc, they were a great time. They left in Cairns, and were sorely missed.
Felicity: Oh man. What to say about felicity...Well. I guess the first thing to say is loud. Really, really loud. With a very piercing, annoying voice. 2nd thing is that other than being really loud, kind of inconsiderate and annoying, etc, shes a really nice girl...just tries a bit hard and gets on your nerves alot. 3rd would probably be late, every time we stopped somewhere she was the last person back to the car. Every. Time. it was ridiculous. Shes from wales, 5'10, probably 170 lbs at the start of the trek...gettin up roudn 190 by the end, blonde, and kind of hurtin. but all in all it wouldnty have been the same without her, for better or worse I cant say...I think we kind of needed her to keep the energy up some times, and other times I would have rather had a route canal. love ya flicko..
Eleni: her and flick showed up together the first morning, giving the impression theyd been friends for ages...they hadnt actually, they just met the night before, but that impression stuck and she ended up roomin with flick the whole trip..sucker. hahah eleni stayed pretty quiet at first, but she was a really sweet girl, always lookin out for everyone and stuff. got to know her a bit towards the end, and she had a really interesting background: she grew up on a compound in nigeria! Some of the things she'd seen were really incredible. She's gonna be a policewoman very soon, and a profiler before too long.
Nicholas: The dutch guy. Nick was 26, and a seriously hilarious guy. me him and rantik were kind of "the boys" of this trip. I didnt get to know him very much at first, but he had to repeatedly hit me with pillows at night to stop my snoring, cause his hearing is really sensitive. Nick got kicked out of the army for falling asleep under a truck during his mechanic exam. hahahaha just to give you the laid back kind of vibe. he was always reliable to tell people to shut up when they needed it. Especially ricardo and felicity. Damn they were annoying. all in all a solid guy.
Alright I'm getting lazy now, this shit takes way too much time, and I havent even got much done yet. I'll finish up summin up the crew later, I'm gonna try and get more of the actual events down. so I was in mount Isa. which reminded me of alberta, it even had its own stampede hahah. It was a pretty cool little town, but we didnt see too much of it, we had to get on the road again pretty early.
alright I want to write more but I have to get a shower and dinner and some other stuff and then get ready to go out tonight. Headed to this bar called the Gaff? 2 storey backpackers party bar...like the Vic in darwin, which you guys havent heard about yet. just you wait.
I'll post again tomorrow
later bitches

Australia 7

Alright I cant deal with going over everything in detail, so here.
I hiked Uluru(Ayers Rock), Kings Canyon, and Kata Tjuta, drove a ton, saw the outback, went deep sea fishing, clubbing, and drinking, and then drove 3200 kms in 48 hours with my tour guides and Eleni, to get back to Sydney. I stayed in Central Sydney for about 4 days, partied with some irish guys and had a good time, then I was going to go to Darwin, and I went to go to Cronulla on the way. Cronulla is a Suburb of Sydney, about an hour out, which has a reputation for having some of the hottest women in australia. Its got a huge, beautiful beach, solid night life, and the best hostel I've stayed at yet! I'm gonna be stayin here for a few months working and chilling out I think. I got here, and right away I felt like I fit in, everyone was cool and just as crazy as I am, some even more :||. I played drinking games with some swedish girls, smoked joints, met everyone, then went out to the bars and checked out the talent, danced with some hotties, and had an awesome night. Then, the next day came the Saga. St. Patricks Day. At 10 in the morning, I was with an Irish guy, Tom(Apeshit Crazy), an English guy Glen, a Kiwi girl Charlotte, another Kiwi guy that I forget the name of(cause I always call him Kiwi) and an english guy with a sprystache. And we were entering the Liquor store. I got a 6 pack of Coopers, and we got on the train to Bondi Beach. An hour later, I'm already a 6 pack in, and we've scared off about 20 people and wished happy St Patricks Day to about 20 more. We got to Bondi and went to an Irish pub called the Cock and Bull, to get on their 15$ Tshirt Beer and Breakfast deal. I got an awesome "Whos your Paddy" tshirt, a pint of guiness, and a HUGE breakfast there, and chatted up some girls, then had a few more pints and moved onto the next bar. The whole way down the street we were all high fiving strangers, talking to everyone we walked by, getting in the way of skateboarders, chattin up girls, and generally being drunken fools. It was great. Then we went to the Tea Tree, which was a really nice chilled out bar, and had a few more drinks. Then we went and got a train into Central Sydney to go to a big Irish area called The Rocks. By this point we were all smashed, wearing a large selection of huge hats, flags, and green tshirts, and shouting at everyone we went by. Then we went to the Rocks,a nd things got messy. The pints just kept coming there, loud music, and it was PACKKKEDDDD. On the way, I nearly lost the group about 3 times talking to groups of girls and wandering off with them, then realizing I couldn't see anyone I knew and running off, repeatedly. Then at the rocks, we all lost each other in the drunkness. I found CHarlotte and Glen a couple hours later, and we decided to go back to the hostel to chill and get ready for the night. At night we just went out in cronulla, down to this bar called Northys. The women there, are incredible. The average girl there is probably an 8.8. Its ridiculous. So that was fun, then I came back to my room and slept until around 2, after smoking some more dope, and woke up to one fo the neighbouring bunk beds squeaking sand some girl squealing.
attaboi ken brotha. attaboi.
hahahahah
